RonuWeb (“we”, “our”) provides a platform to upload and search files. This notice explains how we process personal data in connection with our services and your rights under applicable Nigerian data protection law, including the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA) and any superseding regulations.

1) Data We Collect

• Uploaded content and related metadata (filename, size, MIME type, derived text/embeddings, thumbnails).
• Operational logs (error/activity logs) and limited analytics (non‑identifying).

2) How We Use Data

• Operate, secure, and improve the service (e.g., deduplication, search, thumbnails, malware scanning).
• Prevent abuse, investigate incidents, and comply with legal obligations.
• Communicate with you when you contact us about issues or requests.

3) Legal Basis

We process data primarily on the basis of legitimate interests (running a secure, reliable service) and, where applicable, your consent (e.g., when you submit uploads).

4) Sharing and Transfers

We store uploaded files in a private cloud object store. Files may be served via short‑lived links while the underlying storage remains private. We may share minimal data with infrastructure providers (e.g., hosting, storage, email) strictly to provide the service. We do not sell personal data.

5) Security

We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures: private bucket, presigned links, optional malware scanning (ClamAV), and access controls. No security measure is perfect; please use good security practices on your devices.

6) Retention

We retain uploaded files and associated metadata for as long as the service requires or until you request removal. Logs and IP data are retained for a limited period (e.g., 30–90 days) for security and troubleshooting, then deleted or anonymized.

7) Your Rights

Subject to the NDPA, you may have rights to access, rectify, delete, or object to certain processing. To exercise your rights, contact us at privacy@ronuweb.com (update to your address). We may request additional information to verify your identity and to protect other users’ rights.

8) Children

This service is not directed to children. Do not upload content involving minors. We will remove such content and may notify relevant authorities as required by law.

9) International Transfers

We may process or store data outside Nigeria (e.g., in regions where our providers operate). We take steps to ensure an adequate level of protection consistent with applicable law.

10) Changes

We may update this policy to reflect changes in law or our practices. We will post the updated version here with a new “Last updated” date.
